Biography
Born in Geneva, Xavier Dami studied the piano with Anne-Marie Riise, Eduardo Vercelli, Dominique Weber, Ronald Brautigam. He also attended interpretation lessons given by András Schiff, Vitaly Margulis and Leon Fleisher. A winner of various prizes, Xavier holds a diploma (with high honors) and a virtuosity (with distinction and congratulations from the jury). He collaborates with the OSR, the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, the Ensemble Vocal de Lausanne, Le Motet, La Psallette, the Ensemble Vocal Séquence, the Choeur Cantatio and the HEM de Genève. He works with many renowned singers but also performs various repertoirs of recital and chamber music. He has notably been invited to the Musiktage Mondsee, near Salzburg, to the Musicales de Colmar, to the Split Summer Festival. Xavier Dami created Didier Puntos’ L’Ombre des jumeaux in Mulhouse, Gregorio Zanon’s Concerto grosso and he has performed in the show “Impressions de Pelléas”, based on Debussy’s opera, in a 2-piano version. He has been a pianist and vocal coach at the Grand Théâtre de Genève for many years, and he can often be heard there on the continuo (Le Nozze di Figaro, La Clemenza di Tito, Don Giovanni, Il Barbiere di Siviglia…), within the OSR (Petrouchka, Lulu…) or even in recital. He conducted, from the piano, La Petite Zauberflöte at the Montreux-Vevey Festival.
