Sarah Ntambwe Kyabu

Sarah Ntambwe Kyabu, born in Goma in 1996, is a beacon of hope in the war-torn eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Affectionately known as “Maman Sarah,” she is a dedicated human rights defender and peacebuilder. As the founder of “Change Your World,” Sarah’s innovative “Day Center” approach has transformed the lives of over 3,000 street children and war victims, helping them reintegrate into society.

In 2024, she took her advocacy to the UN Security Council, where she briefed members on the Great Lakes region, emphasizing dignity and regional cohesion. Her initiatives have positively impacted more than 13,000 women and children affected by conflict, providing essential support.  Sarah has also been involved in high-level peace processes, including the Nairobi talks. Her relentless dedication has earned her multiple accolades, including recognition from the UN Security Council and the title “Young Hope of the DRC,” symbolizing the resilience of Congo’s youth.
