17 August 2015 – The third annual Geneva Peace Talks will take place on Friday, 18 September 2015 at the Palais des Nations (Room XIX) from 16:30-18:30.

This year’s theme is “It’s Time For Peace!” In light of daily news headlines about war and violent conflict, the Geneva Peace Talks 2015 will highlight the urgency to support peace efforts around the world. Speakers from a diversity of backgrounds will share innovative ways to strengthen peace and prevent violent conflict.

Launched in 2013, the Geneva Peace Talks is an annual, public event organized on the occasion of the International Day of Peace in partnership between the United Nations Office at Geneva, the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform and Interpeace.

Every year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The United Nations General Assembly has declared this a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.

The event is made possible with the generous support of the Fondation pour Genève, the Swiss Confederation, the Republic and State of Geneva, the City of Geneva, and the Global Shapers Community Geneva.
